Update 16.0 – Visitor record at the big German speaking User Meeting

The 16th German speaking User Meeting for the Interfaces of PTC Creo and Pro/ENGINEER into SAP PLM took place on 24th February 2016 in the well-known and cozy atmosphere of the Buhlschen Mühle in Ettlingen, Germany. The event for our existing customers and all those people interested in our Solutions was all about the SAP Engineering Control Center 5.1, as well as the SAP Engineering Control Center interface to PTC Creo. Our loyal customers have been updated with all the latest information about the SAP PLM Interface to Pro/ENGINEER.

"It is a pleasure, 15 years after the first .riess Update in 2001 when the topic CAD direct interface was still a marginal issue, to welcome more than 100 new clients, interested parties and partners from over 50 German-based companies!", said Wolfgang Schukowski, CEO of .riess engineering europe gmbh during the welcome speech at the beginning of the event.

After that the sessions got kicked off with the SAP Keynote Connected Products – Your Digital Product Innovation Platform by the Chief Product Owner SAP PLM of SAP SE. Well shown and explained using a lot of examples, all people in the room realized which benefits the switch to S/4 Hana will bring to the customers. The topic SAP Engineering Control Center was slightly touched during the Keynote by pointing out the CAD and authoring system integration into as being futureproof.

In between the follow up coffee and lunch breaks, the .riess product management presented the new functions and enhancements of the established solution SAP PLM Interface to Pro/ENGINEER and the .riess process optimization solutions for SAP PLM. During this presentation, the key word “READY for SAP ECTR” was mentioned several times: .riess engineering has been working intensively in the past year to protect customer investments and ensure our process optimization solutions being futureproof for customers who will switch to SAP ECTR.
                                   
The afternoon sessions have been all about the SAP ECTR and got kicked off by the executive Product Owner of SAP SE. During his presentation about SAP Engineering Control Center: yesterday | today | tomorrow he intensively pointed out the new features of the Release 5.1 and SAP ECTR for S/4 Hana.
The Highlight of the day was surely the convincing “What’s new live show” of the SAP Engineering Control Center with its SAP Engineering Control Center interface to PTC Creo 1.1. Our .riess colleagues have been supported by the SAP Germany Presales who demonstrated live, how deep embedded the solution is into the SAP PLM change process.

The last slot of the day was reserved for a reference customer presentation of the Endress+Hauser Group and was all about their experiences during the successfully done Proof of Concept for switching from Creo data management using CAD Desktop to the SAP Engineering Control Center.

The coffee and lunch breaks between the sessions have been used for networking between existing customers, those who think about to become customers, specialists of SAP, the CAD interface partners and .riess engineering. The majority of the customers and partners used the evening buffet in the cozy Brasserie Watts for continuing their discussions and talks.

The follow up day was the day of the User Group meeting for the Interface of PTC Creo and Pro/EINGEER in SAP PLM in the .riess engineering offices in Karlsbad.
