1st German OpenOffice.org Congress for Business and Public Administration highly praised

More than 100 participants registered to the OpenOffice.org Congress, which was held for the first time at Wiesbaden Kurhaus (Germany) early in October. This was a major success for the first German experts’ meeting in this vein, which was exclusively designed for professionals and decision-makers in the field. The big response by this highly competent target audience served as a perfect starting condition for the organizers and main sponsors .riess applications und SCAI GmbH, hosting an event which was focused on both business and professional users around OpenOffice.org.

As a result, both congress days succeeded even above expectations. Attendees did not only benefit from excellent speeches but also enjoyed multiple opportunities for networking and targeted exchange of experiences. A high-level panel discussion with Sun Microsystems and Microsoft, called at short notice, received special attention: apart from the discussion of controversial issues, such as interoperability and document format, the audience also noticed a great deal of sympathy and willingness for mutual collaboration.
