RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and as a typical Web 2.0 application has primarily become popular through web logs and is now a widespread method of providing news.

RSS can be used via so-called feed readers. These are special programmes that read in and display the subscribed feeds, or simply as bookmarks in the current internet browsers. Setting up couldn't be easier: click on the RSS icon in the address bar of the browser or in the header next to the printer symbol and experience the same process as for creating a traditional bookmark.
