The Events Centre in Ettlingen.

That was the .riess Update 9.0

The ninth .riess Update took place on Wednesday, 18 February. More than 100 visitors found their way to the Bulsche Mühle Events Centre in Ettlingen for .riess's 20th anniversary. Some even came from afar, so that we were also able to welcome guests from Hamburg, Jena, Switzerland and Austria.

Update 9.0 offered three series of lectures on current IT topics. The participants made use of the opportunity to swap tracks between "Success Factors in the Computing Centre" and "Desktop Software Infrastructure" to visit the talks that were of greatest interest to them personally. Compared to the previous years, the growing number of participants from large companies showing interest in the Open Source solutions was striking.

The third series of lectures was dedicated to the user meetings on SAP PLM integration for Pro/ENGINEER. Customers and those interested in the SAP price list product traditionally come together here. This year too the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere was praised which not least arises from the fact that the customers do not come due to problems with the software but predominantly to obtain information about current developments and trends. In addition to the positive feedback of the visitors, this is also an indication that the SAP PLM integration is running smoothly amongst most of the customers so that they do not have major support requirements.

The breaks were used also in the bright sunshine outdoors for intensive networking. The day was traditionally brought to an end in the near-by Brasserie Watts. The raffle of three Apple iPods and a fine Mediterranean buffet provided a convivial and suitable framework to make contacts and let the day come to an end in a relaxed atmosphere.
